Genki es un chico que pasa su vida jugando a los videojuegos, esta totalmente volcado en ellos. Un buen dia es arrastrado dentro del mundo de Monster Rancher (Granja de Monstruos), alli conoce a una chica llamada Holly y a los monstruos Mochi, Suezo, Golem, Tiger y Hare. Juntos trataran de encontrar la forma de revivir al Fenix, el unico monstruo capaz de detener al malvado y demoniaco monstruo Moo.
