Masha vive en el bosque con sus mascotas: un perro, una cabra y un cerdo. Ella obliga a los animales del bosque a que jueguen con ella, por lo que ellos le temen. Masha vive cerca del transiberiano y una mañana, Masha mira a una mariposa y la sigue cuando viene a darse cuenta entra a la casa de un oso que había salido a purgar. Mientras juega allí, Masha termina haciendo un gran desorden en la casa. El oso regresa a su hogar y ve el desastre causado por Masha. El oso intenta sin éxito deshacerse de ella. Al final, Masha y el oso se vuelven amigos.
