Homicide: Life on the Street es una serie policial estadounidense acerca del trabajo de una unidad de homicidios en un departamento de Policía de Baltimore. Duró siete temporadas en la cadena NBC entre 1993 y 1999, y finalizó en el año 2000 con un telefilme. La serie está basada en el libro basado en hechos reales escrito por David Simon, Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets, y muchos de los personajes e historias utilizadas a lo largo del show estuvieron basadas en personas y eventos descritos en el libro (Simon también los usaría en su propia serie para HBO, The Wire). Aunque Homicide cuenta con un reparto coral, Andre Braugher (quien interpreta al Det. Frank Pembleton) emergería como la estrella de la serie.

Bolander meets a waitress who encourages him to resume his cello playing. Munch's girlfriend is less than enthusiastic when he surprises her with a new fish for her tank. Frank, in the box, gets the confession that Gee is looking for. Unfortunately, the suspect is anything but guilty of that crime.

A slain phone-sex operator is found clutching a note naming her boss as the perpetrator, Bayliss and Pembleton investigate. Munch has trouble dealing with Bolander's happiness, so he crashes the double date and makes everyone miserable. A man is shot to death over a pen at the library, Lewis and Crosetti investigate and find a man with a pen fetish. As Bayliss looks into the murder he begins to get involved.
