Ugly Americans es la historia de Mark Lilly, un joven trabajador social que se desmpeña en departamento de integración social en una sociedad donde los humanos y los "mutantes" conviven de manera regular. Twayne, su jefe y Callie, su amante -ambos demonios- se encargarán de hacerle ver su suerte, y al lado de Randall, su compañero de piso zombi, se enfrentará a la intolerancia de Grimes, el jefe de seguridad del departamento de integración. Entre palabras obscenas, burlas sociales, y humor negro, se desarrolla esta historia en una realidad alterna de la ciudad de Nueva York.
