Makino Tsukushi es una chica pobre en un colegio de ricos, Eitoku Gakuen, donde los más poderosos son los chicos del F4, un grupo de cuatro herederos de familias millonarias. Si alguien se mete con ellos, recibe una "tarjeta roja" que le da permiso al resto de la escuela para acosarlo. Makino solo quiere pasar desapercibida, pero un día defiende a una amiga frente a Domyoji Tsukasa, el líder del F4, y acaba con la tarjeta roja. A pesar de todo el acoso, decide seguir en la escuela porque es una "mala hierba" que no se rinde. Su valentía atrae a Hanazawa Rui, pero lo que nadie espera es que también empieza a sentir algo por su peor enemigo, Domyoji Tsukasa. Esta historia está basada en el manga Hana Yori Dango de Kamio Yoko.
