Sheen interpreta a Charlie Goodson, un ex jugador de beisbol famoso por sus reacciones violentas y desmesuradas que, después de dejar el deporte, se ha pasado a psicoterapeuta y trata de ayudar a gente con problemas de ira. A su vez él mismo acude a terapia con una atractiva psicóloga con la intención de mantener bajo control sus impulsos. El problema surge cuando le empieza a dar al diván un uso más lucrativo que la propia reflexión. Su faceta profesional y su patología le dejan tiempo para desarrollar su labor de padre, de ex marido complaciente y de mujeriego empedernido. Adaptación en formato sitcom de la película de 2003 "Un ejecutivo agresivo".
