Doogie Howser é médico. Ele também é um gênio de 16 anos que se formou na faculdade aos 10 e terminou a faculdade de medicina aos 14 anos. Mas ele ainda é um adolescente com problemas normais. Porém, ao contrário de um adolescente normal, ele está aprendendo a dirigir, ao mesmo tempo em que dá consultoria sobre transplantes de coração.
